Jr. High students attended the "Sleuths in Science" STEM Day at SIU on Friday. Students participated in soil, plants, DNA, and geology activities to help solve a murder mystery.

The "Greeting From Alto Pass" postcard mural is nearing completion, with only the wording to add. It is created by Art Club and CYCA (Cobden Youth & Community Advocates) on the side of the Alto Pass Fire Station. Both clubs would like to thank Rusty's Home Center in Anna for their generosity regarding help with supplies, the Basler family for helping with moving the boards, art student teacher Coley Zralka for offering up her expertise, and Ms. Margarita Bartolo for her help painting the wording on the mural. CYCA is voluntarily sponsored by Mrs. Jamie Nash-Mayberry and Art Club is sponsored by Mr. Jeremy Crawford. Both sponsors would like to thank the students for their dedication and hard work on this community project. Pictured below are many of the students who had a hand in the project, a few couldn't be present for the picture due to other commitments.
Dental Safari is coming to Cobden School District! The consent forms will be sent home this week with students. Dental Safari will be here on Monday, Dec. 4th. This exam meets IL mandated requirements for grades K, 2, 6, and 9.

Co Op student, Hunter Pitts works at DTM Custom Applications. Hunter is pictured reloading the spreader with fertilizer. Hunter has learned many valuable hands on experiences through the Co Op program.
Cobden's Jr. High Beta Club and Student Leadership Council are hosting a Pet Supply Drive for St. Francis Animal Rescue in honor of Blake Morrison. They will collect donations from October 23rd to November 3rd. Please bring any donated items to Ms. Brumleve at Cobden High School. You will find a list of items to donate on the flyer.

Educators Rising Club attended Future Educator Day at SIU. Students attended sessions and learned about majoring in education. Our very own Ed Rising State Officer, Grace White presented closing remarks. Way to go! 👩🏻🏫
ESL Dance Team participated at John A. Logan College's Hispanic Heritage Month celebration. The dancers taught students the steps to Jarabe Tapatio as well as opening for the Keynote speaker with a performance.
