Mr. Grossman is excited to announce the choice for this year’s play: Puffs, or: Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic!
As children, we read fantastical stories of kids with incredible abilities, who go on amazing adventures, performing feats of extraordinary heroism. In the past 25 years, one boy-wizard in particular has risen to heights of unbelievable fame. When he discovered he had magical powers on his eleventh birthday, he embarked on an epic seven-year journey to vanquish evil. More than half a billion people followed this boy on his journey, which has now been turned into movies, comics, theme parks, and a wildly successful stage play. This, however, is not that story. This is the story of the Puffs, who happened to be there, too.
Puffs, or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic is set in that school, following students who have an affinity for badgers and no wish to die trying to save the world.
Auditions will be held Wednesday, January 10th after school in Mr. Grossman’s room for any interested High School student. Please see Mr. Grossman to pick up an Audition Packet ASAP! We hope to see many of you there!
Congratulations to sophomores Natalie Marks for selling the most Quatro's certificates and receiving two free large pizzas from them, and congratulations to Mason Lyerla for second place and receiving a Quatro's eclipse t-shirt from them.
Congrats to the Cobden High School Scholar Bowl for another win! Both the JV and Varsity teams pulled in wins over Shawnee yesterday. Way to go!
Over 30 Jr High students enjoyed the annual FCA Cookie Exchange at lunch today!
Congrats to Maya Tripp on winning the Career & Consumer Economics stock market game in Mrs. Nashberry's course this semester. She received an Amazon gift card for making the most money in the virtual stocks game.
Foods I students completed their end of the semester meal project. Each lab group prepared an appetizer, entree, dessert, beverage, centerpiece and menu all tied to a theme. Great job everyone!
Semester Exam Guidelines for Junior and Senior High School
December 21st & 22nd
Junior High
6th Grade-All 6th graders are exempt from all exams as long as the semester average is a passing grade. Students that have a failing semester average will be required to take the exam in the class that student has a failing grade.
7th Grade-All students will be required to take a math, reading and Language Arts exam. Students that have a failing semester average will also be required to take the exam in the class that the student has a failing grade.
8th Grade-All students will be required to take all of their exams, regardless of the semester average grade.
High School
All High School students will be required to take all exams the first semester , regardless of attendance, behavior or grades.

The Cobden Agriculture Department has had a very busy past few weeks. Students have helped the elementary with the butterfly garden project, hosted a guest speaker from the Lincoln Tech Mechanics School, participated in the Veterans Day Parade, and hosted a s'mores booth at Christmas in the village.
