Reminder- this fundraiser ends Tuesday Dec. 5th. The Sophomore Class of 2026 is selling Quatro's gift certificates for $10 each. For every certificate sold, Quatros donates $3 back to the class. There is no expiration on the certificates, and they can be used for anything on the menu at Quatros in Carbondale such as pizza, salads, pastas, and sandwiches. These make great stocking stuffers! Please see a Sophomore for some certificates to help support the Class of 2026. If you don't know one, feel free to leave a comment and we'll connect you. The deadline for certificate money to be turned in is Tues Dec 5th.

It's a great day to be an Appleknocker! We received this year's promotional material for the Farm Credit Scholarship competition and were pleasantly surprised to see former CHS student Gustavo Juarez on the poster and postcards. High Schools around the area will receive the same material to display in their classrooms and hallways. We are proud of you, Gustavo!

Today Seniors in Mrs. Nashberry's Government class took part in a mock trial. Roles included prosecution, defense, and jurors along with deputies/bailiffs. All students did an excellent job of presenting their side's arguments, and questioning witnesses on the stand. Special thanks to the forensic science club for their analysis and contributions.

Students and Staff celebrated being named a Democracy School by wearing patriotic colors and treating themselves to some punch and cookies on Tuesday. Former Lt. Governor Sheila Simon spoke to seniors in Mrs. Nashberry's government class, recognizing the students who served on the committee, and discussed the importance of democracies. This honor, being recognized as a democracy school, is for staff teaching civics across the curriculum in their many different subject disciplines and helping prepare our Appleknockers to be civic minded citizens.
