Dear Cobden Families,
Next week, we are excited to celebrate National School Breakfast Week (March 3-7) with the theme "Clue In to Breakfast!" This special week highlights the importance of starting the day with a nutritious meal, helping students stay energized and ready to learn.
To kick off the event, we have invited local law enforcement officers to join us for breakfast on Monday, March 3rd. This will be a great opportunity for students to connect with community members while enjoying a delicious morning meal.
Additionally, we’ll be showcasing breakfast for lunch next week to encourage all students to "clue in" to the benefits of breakfast foods at any time of the day!
We are also proud to share that we use as many locally sourced ingredients as possible and that many of our menu items are made from scratch right in our school kitchens. We are committed to providing fresh, high-quality meals that support both student health and our local farmers.
We encourage you to talk with your child about the importance of eating breakfast and remind them to join us in the cafeteria for a fun and nutritious start to their day.

Dear Cobden Families, Due to inclement weather and hazardous road conditions developing, there will be NO SCHOOL or after school activities on Wednesday, February 19th. The HS Beta Club Pizza Villa fundraiser for tomorrow night is postponed and will be rescheduled.
UPDATE:
Tuesdays game and Senior Night will be moved to tomorrow Monday February 17. JV game starts at 5:00pm.
5th/6th grade girls will play in the small gym at 5:00pm.
5th/6th grade boys will play in the small gym at 6:00pm.
Cam’s celebration of life will be on March 1, 2025 here at the school gym from 12-2pm.

Congratulations to the High School Scholar Bowl team! Both the JV and Varsity teams secured a win over Joppa today!
Educators Rising Club took a field trip to SIUC yesterday. Students visited the Child Development Lab and learned about majoring in Early Childhood Education. Then in the afternoon, students visited the Center for Virtual Expression and learned about using AI and Virtual Reality in the classroom. It was a fun day!

Foods II students are currently learning about candy making and the stages of sugar syrup. Students prepared tanghulu. Tanghulu is a traditional Chinese snack of fresh fruit skewered and coated in a hardened sugar syrup.
