Puffs, Or: Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic runs Friday, May 3rd and Saturday, May 4th at 7:00pm at The Varsity Theater in Carbondale. Tickets are $10 and may be purchased at the school or at the theater the nights of performances. Get your tickets before they sell out! Hope to see you all there!


Students when you arrive for prom tonight please park behind the building and come through the double doors in the back. Also coronation will be at 8 o'clock. See you there!

Mrs. Nashberry and Mrs. Reiman took 25 CYCA members to volunteer at Special Olympics in Herrin today. They worked hard to make it a fun day for all of the athletes.



The Animal Science class enjoyed a beautiful day at the zoo today! Students chose an animal to research and created an informational presentation. Students were happy to meet the animals they researched and completed a fact scavenger hunt while at the zoo today!

The Appleknocker Agriculture Department Students have been busy! Students in Mrs. LeFevre’s Horticulture class enjoyed breaking ground in the school garden this week. Vegetables will be planted over the next week and maintained during the summer for SAE projects. Mechanics class have enjoyed working on small engines, tearing them down and rebuilding.



Jr. High Golf Match at Union County Country Club has been cancelled for today and no golf practice today.

6th and 9th grade students that have not turned in a Dental Exam must do so by May 15th.

High School Softball game is cancelled today.

Jr. High Golf at Harrisburg. Dismiss at 1:00 p.m. Bus leaves at 1:15 p.m.
High school baseball and softball at home against Agape. Game times 4:30 p.m.

The Cobden FFA had a busy week! Thursday afternoon students participated in the Section 24 Horticulture Career Development Event held in Carbondale. The team placed 3rd, with Kingston Kuhn placing 8th individual and Tommy Quertermous placing 10th individual. Friday, students pictured above participated in the SIUC Livestock Competition. Congratulations to the Varsity team placing 12th out of 39 teams and the JV team placing 4th out of 24 teams. Congratulations to Kingston Kuhn placing 15th out of 95 students in JV and Kylie Baker-Hale placing 9th out of 178 in the varsity competition. Mrs. LeFevre is very proud!
