Cobden art club was invited to participate the "High School Art Experience" at SIU today. Students attended three different sessions, prompting them to create artworks to be displayed at Morris Library on campus at a later date.

Co Op student, Ben Poirier works at DTM Custom Applicators in Jonesboro. Ben assists with maintaining equipment and other tasks. He also operates his own tractor restoration business. Ben's mechanical skills have translated well at DTM and his manager is impressed with Ben's skillset.

Congratulations to 8th graders Leo and Tristan for placing 2nd in Jr. High Boys Varsity team at the New Simpson Hill Cross Country Meet on Tuesday in Ozark. The Cobden Cross Country teams head to Massac for a meet this afternoon.

Mrs. Wheeler, with the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program at Shawnee Community College, visited CHS today for a Lunch and Learn. Interested students learned about this amazing program at SCC and the different career paths they can take with this certification.


If you ordered a mum from the Class of 2027 or Educators Rising, pick up is tomorrow, September 18th from 3:05-4:00 behind the band room/small gym. Colors are first come, first served. We would like to extend a big thank you to Bass Farms for donating the delivery of the mums!

Students and staff took part in Outdoor Club's first kayaking voyage at Cedar Lake after school today. The school provided many of the kayaks and gear for those who didn't have their own.

Co Op student, Kohen Moore works at St. Francis Care in Murphysboro. Kohen assists the staff with the animals. His supervisor really appreciates his help with the large dogs. Kohen plans to open his own dog boarding business one day. He is gaining valuable skills at St. Francis!


Saturday both Lindsey Windings and Jaylyn Stroehlein read their essays at the Constitution Day celebration in Jonesboro. They were the winners for county-wide high school and junior high Union County D.A.R. Constitution Day Essay contests.
