Mason Lyerla served on the Student Advisory Council for the Illinois State Board of Education this school year. Mason was also recently elected to serve as the President of Educators Rising Illinois for the 2025-26 school year. Way to go, Mason!

Thanks to the passion and dedication of our staff, students, and community partners, we've grown more than just produce- we’ve grown opportunities for hands-on learning, healthier eating, and stronger connections to our local farmers.

Reminder Early Dismissal Friday, May 23 and NO School Monday May 26 for Memorial Day.
The Outdoor Club kayaked on Cedar Lake Monday after school. The fleet consisted of 18 kayaks and 1 canoe with a mixture of students and staff from Cobden Jr -Sr High School.
Our Jr. Beta Club members who met their service participation goal enjoyed a fun incentive trip to Ultimate Air Trampoline Park, followed by pizza and time to relax at the park. A great way to wrap up the year and recognize their efforts!

Connor Hartline and Olivia Brumleve are graduates of the class of 2022. While in high school, they earned College and Career Pathway Endorsements in Human and Public Services (Education) and were active participants in Educators Rising Club as well as The Southern Illinois Future Teacher Coalition. We are so proud to announce that Connor has accepted an elementary teaching position at Giant City and Olivia has accepted an Agriculture teaching position at Shawnee High School starting this fall. Our future teacher program has come full circle! Welcome to the teaching profession Connor and Olivia!

Kate Mason did an amazing job today representing Cobden School at the State Golf Meet at Kokopelli! She played 18 holes and kept a positive attitude and played great throughout the round!

On April 27, Cobden FFA held its annual banquet at Giant City Lodge—a night filled with reflection, celebration, and gratitude. It was more than just an end-of-year event; it was a moment to honor the dedication, passion, and achievements of our members who have made this year truly remarkable.
We are incredibly proud of every FFA member who has shown what it means to lead, serve, and grow. Your hard work and commitment to agricultural education and community service do not go unnoticed.
