Mr. Clutts and Mrs. Flamm’s fifth grade classes had an unforgettable day exploring the great outdoors on a field trip to Ferne Clyffe State Park! 🥾☀️
Students enjoyed a scenic hike through the trails, soaking in the beauty of Southern Illinois’ natural landscape. From towering trees to peaceful waterfalls, nature did not disappoint! After the hike, everyone tried their hand at fishing, casting lines and sharing laughs by the water’s edge. 🎣🌲
It was a perfect day to learn outside the classroom, build friendships, and make memories. Huge thanks to our teachers and chaperones for making this adventure possible! 💚

🌱 Celebrating Our Farm to School Success! 🌽
We’re excited to share some wonderful news with our Cobden families! Nurse Holly has created an amazing presentation that highlights all the incredible progress our district has made this year through our Farm to School initiative.
Thanks to the passion and dedication of our staff, students, and community partners, we've grown more than just produce- we’ve grown opportunities for hands-on learning, healthier eating, and stronger connections to our local farmers.
Thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm as we plant seeds for a healthier future!

A Fond Farewell to Ms. Becca In Mrs. Jerrell’s Pre-K class
Students and staff recently said goodbye to Ms. Becca, a valued paraprofessional and student teacher. Ms. Becca has been an incredible part of our classroom community, bringing kindness, creativity, and a passion for early childhood education. We are proud to share that she recently graduated from Southern Illinois University with her bachelor’s degree in education. This fall, she will begin an exciting new chapter as a teacher in another school district. While we are sad to see her go, we are thrilled for the students who will benefit from her talents and dedication. Congratulations, Ms. Becca, on this important milestone! You will be truly missed, and we wish you all the best in your teaching journey.

Today our students enjoyed a lunch of Burritos, Chips & Salsa, Refried Beans, Fruit and Milk

Have you ever watched a butterfly take its first flight? Mrs.Jerrell’s Pre-K class had the joy of witnessing the magic of transformation during our butterfly study! From tiny caterpillars to chrysalises, and finally to beautiful butterflies—we observed it all. The children recently released 10 butterflies into the world, and it was a moment full of wonder and excitement. What a beautiful way to celebrate growth and connect with nature!
