A Special Mystery Reader Visit!
Yesterday was extra special in Mrs. Sheridan’s Kindergarten class—Knox’s grandma was our Mystery Reader and it was Knox’s birthday! She shared a fun story with the class and helped make Knox’s day even more memorable. Thank you, Grandma, for celebrating with us and spreading the joy of reading. What a perfect way to mark a special day!

What can a taco stand teach a 4-year-old? More than you might think! In Mrs.Jerrell’s Pre-K classroom, learning is always hands-on—and often full of imagination. Recently, we transformed our dramatic play area into our very own local taco stand! But behind the fun of pretending to take orders, make tacos, and serve customers, there’s a world of learning happening. Through this playful setup, our students practiced communication, teamwork, problem-solving, early literacy and math skills—all while building confidence and creativity. They created menus, counted ingredients, took turns being the “chef” and the “customer,” and even explored elements of our local community and culture. This is what turning curiosity into meaningful learning experiences that lay a strong foundation for the years to come look like. Because when we say “play is the work of children,” we truly mean it!
