
7th graders presented their Native American Living History projects in Social Studies today, many complete with model homes and tribe-specific attire!


Co Op student, Katelyn Shadowens works at Jordo’s Pizza in Anna. Katelyn not only prepares pizzas but has taken on a leadership role. Katelyn is a very hard worker and has a bright future ahead of her!


The JH Baseball Tourn game is being postponed until later this week. Date/time will be announced as soon as possible.

Students are celebrating Mexican Independence Day with some dancing between classes. Thank you Mrs. Guijon!


Parents, Our school nurse is in the process of making sure all students have current Illinois health requirements on file. If your child is missing any of these items they will be receiving a notice this week. Students must have these documents turned in by Oct. 15th.

Seniors in Mrs. Nashberry's Government classes learned about 9/11 today, then took a walk down to the Cobden Veterans Memorial to look at names as a reminder that Freedom isn't Free. Many had relatives on the memorial. They also made sure to take note of the name Ryan Stroehlein who passed away last year, and fought in Afghanistan from 2009-2013.


Union County Clerk, Lance Meisenheimer spoke with Adult Living class about the importance of voting and civic duty as well as the vital records that are held in his office at the courthouse. Students also learned how elections are ran and how some property tax dollars are spent.


8th graders performed the Rainbow Challenge today. Students began with only red, blue, and yellow water, and were challenged to precisely measure and follow directions in order to end with 6 rainbow colors. Nice work!

Psychology students have spent this past week learning all about their brains. They created their own Brain Hats to help them remember the different lobes and how they help them learn, keep memories and sense the world around them.




HS Golf will not play today as scheduled.

Come show your support as the high school volleyball team takes on Christopher tonight! JV starts at 6:00, varsity will follow. Volleyball home games will be played at Jonesboro Elementary this season.
