Last week, Mrs. Smith took Cobden AG/CTE students to the Southern Illinois Career and Trade Fair!
Students had the opportunity to dive into hands-on activities like brick laying, sheet metal work, welding, and pipe fitting. They also connected with local unions to learn not just about the trades themselves, but also the pay and benefits these careers offer. A fantastic experience exploring future pathways!

October is Socktober, the National Beta Club’s annual sock drive — Jr. and Senior Beta Club are hoping to collect 200 packages of new socks to help those in need. (Yes, 200 packages of socks!) Because socks are one of the most requested items by shelters, your donation can really make a difference.
Here’s how you can help:
Bring new, in-package socks of any size (children, youth, adult)
Drop them in the donation bins placed at the front hallway and back hallway
The drive runs throughout October, so you have the whole month to donate
Invite your friends, classmates, and teachers to donate too
Let’s show our school spirit and kindness by filling those bins! Every pair counts, and together we can help our community stay a little warmer this season.
We will be having the sock bins out at the Purple Out Game this Friday too - feel free to bring in those socks!
Thank you — and happy Socktober!
