Mason Lyerla was elected as the 2024-2025 Vice President of Educators Rising Illinois. Mason will represent the state of Illinois at several future teacher events this year. Mason is currently a junior in the Education Pathway and hopes to be a Social Sciences teacher one day.
Ed Rising held their first meeting of the year! 35 students showed interest in becoming a teacher or working with children in the future. This year's officers did an excellent job leading the meeting. Mrs. Reiman is currently scheduling community stakeholders to present about college, career, and trade opportunities to current Cobden High School students. Lunch-n-Learns is an informal brown bag lunch series that provides individuals from various post-secondary, career, and trade backgrounds with an opportunity to talk about their field of interest to our students. If you have a program or career you want to present to CHS students, Mrs. Reiman invites you to be added to our Lunch-n-Learn Program schedule.

24-25 Cobden Unit School District #17 Calendar Update
*September 20th will no longer be an 11:30 dismissal for students. Students will have a full attendance day.
*October 4th will now be an 11:30 dismissal for students. Students will dismiss at 11:30 for staff to participate in school improvement activities.

Lead AV Club Editor Mason Lyerla and volunteer sponsor Mrs. Nashberry worked on adjusting lighting and sound this morning in the new green screen room, which is across from Mrs. Engelmann's room, and are hoping to recruit some new members for this year's season of Appleknocker News.
As Peach Fest nears, please tell your visiting friends and family that they can find an assortment of Appleknocker apparel at Cobden Village Shops (next to Iron Whisk). All proceeds go to the Class of 2026.

Cobden students are in Ireland with Mrs. Hurt!! They've spent two days in Dublin. Some of the sights included: Trinity College, Book of Kells, Guinness tour, Pheonix Park, St. Patrick's Cathedral, Dublin Castle, museums, and so much more. And today, they are off to Killarney! Today's high is 65!
