We are thrilled to announce that Cobden Elementary School has once again earned the highest 2025 Annual Summative Designation in the State of Illinois — Exemplary! 🎉
This incredible honor marks the third consecutive year that Cobden Elementary has been recognized among the top 10% of schools statewide.
Schools receiving the Exemplary designation:
▪ Perform in the top 10% of all schools in Illinois
▪ Have no targeted student groups performing at or below the state’s lowest-performing 5%

A big thank you to all the students who entered drawings for the t-shirt design for the Christmas in the Village 5k, December 6th! The top 3 designers won a prize. 🌳 Amazing Appleknockers Adventure! 🌳
Ms. Mueller and Ms. Lyerla’s 1st grade class had a wonderful day exploring Giant City State Park! 🥾 The students enjoyed two hikes, a picnic lunch, and time in the visitor center learning about the park’s plants and animals.
Even though the weather was a little icky, their smiles and excitement made it a perfect day for outdoor fun and discovery! ☔🍂💚
Mrs. Raganyis Pre-k is working on teamwork and kindness this week. The boys were working together today to build a house.

Mrs. Middleton’s class explored water habitats in reading and science last week! The students wrapped up the week by observing local pond water samples and artifacts from the ocean during science class. They loved getting hands-on and being scientists!
