Laborers' Local 773 Pandemic Relief Food Distribution Friday, February 26 Downtown Park Cobden, IL 9:00AM This drive is to aid any residents form any area that have been impacted by the COVID-19 Pandemic. The event will last as long as supplies last. Approximately 35lbs of fresh produce, meat, and dairy from Cusumano's & Sons will be loaded per vehicle. Please remain in vehicles at all times.

Special thanks to Officer Jeff Stroehlein with the Union County Sheriff's Office for talking to students in Mrs. Nash-Mayberry's Civics class on a Google Meet. He talked about what his job entails, but the main focus was about his grandpa Gene Clutts, who was a prison guard and sadly was murdered in 1983 by an inmate at Marion Penitentiary. Students had read an article about the murder during a unit about the death penalty. Officer Stroehlein shared information about his grandpa, and the prison system.

Here is the current plan to make those up (weather permitting) Saturday 2/20 10:00 JHB JV vs Jonesboro 11:00 JHB Varsity vs Jonesboro 1:00 Elverado vs Egyptian jv game 2:15 Elverado vs Egyptian varsity 4:30 Egyptian vs Cobden varsity 6:15 Elverado vs Cobden jv 7:30 Elverado vs Cobden varsity Reminder; each Cobden player is allowed 2 guests during their game & guest must exit the gym after the game ends. No guests will be allowed for the Elverado/Egyptian game. Masks must be worn, temperatures will be taken at the door, and social distancing is a must. Entrance is $3 adults, $2 students.
