8th graders spent the last few weeks of Social Studies class traveling through the decades, from the 1950s to the 2000s.










High school baseball regional championship game Cobden vs. Goreville will be played at Carbondale Superblock. Game time 10:00 a.m. Bus leaves at 8:30 a.m.
Due to rain the High school softball regional championship game will be played at Carbondale Superblock Saturday, May 18 at 10:00 a.m.

Congratulations to Madi Moreland for winning the virtual mock stock market game in Econ with Mrs. Nashberry. She received a $10 Amazon card for making the most money over the semester.

Junior high students who did not receive any guided study halls this semester were able to watch a movie, eat lunch at McDonald’s, and have dessert at Flamm’s.
Last Friday, the Jr. High Student Leadership Council hosted a Field Day for all Jr. High and 5th-grade students. They spent the past few months planning this fun-filled day, which included Field Day games, an ice cream social at lunch, orientation for the 5th graders, and dunking Mr. Hackethal in a dunk tank at the end.




Mr. Crawford’s art show, “Native Strings, The Art of Jeremy Crawford” debuted at Cedar Hurst Center for the Arts in Mt. Vernon Friday May 10th. His art will be on display until July 21st. Congrats Mr. Crawford! Go check it out! https://cedarhurst.org/regenhardt-gallery/


The Mother’s Day Celebration is underway at Cobden High School. Dance Performance starts at 6:30pm....we will be here till 7:30pm. Come out and join us!!

Class of 2026 has brought back a highly anticipated vintage t-shirt- "There Only 1 Appleknocker" exclusively available at Cobden Village Shops in both youth and adult sizes for $16. We also still have the "No Place Like Home" and "Cobden- Home of orchards, rolling hills and Appleknockers" t-shirts and sweatshirts. In addition, we have some infant outfits, and various Appleknocker gear like socks, umbrellas, and sock hats. All proceeds go to the Cobden High School Class of 2026.



Update for today's dismissal: To allow time for students to safely make it home, school will dismiss at 2:45 today. Buses will run at that time. Stay safe everyone.
