We appreciate Dan Silver with the SIUC Paralegal Department for taking the time to visit CHS today. Students listened to him explain about the wide variety of career opportunities in paralegal and law. He also explained how students can benefit by staying local and getting their school potentially paid for if they choose to attend SIUC.

The Agriculture Department is ready for spring! Students in Horticulture class have been maintaining the new hydroponic systems, and have planted the first tomatoes of the year under the grow lights. Students also have planted tulips in the raised garden beds. Wildlife management class created Ducks Unlimited drawings to enter into the stamp competition. Agricultural mechanics class have recently began blueprint and design, starting with building a model house. Animal science students have been learning how to give IVs and take blood in the vet science unit, along with incubating and collecting data on chicken eggs. Keep up the good work Appleknockers!

7th graders created dioramas portraying key scenes from their novel in reading class. They also completed a written report and presented their projects to the class. They worked hard and were very creative!

Hollywood, you look good, and the juniors may be at the top of the class with their hallway and wagon. The seniors, though, may just ride off into the sunset with the spirit stick tomorrow. This town is not big enough for the four of them.

The Freshman and Sophomore classes killed it on their hallway decorations and wagons. I think they may be the stars of the show! The Freshman had the Musicals genre, and the Sophomore was Horror.
