Dr. Grant Miller, with SIUC School of Education, presented part 1 of a two-part lesson to Mrs. Nashberry's Dual Credit history students Wednesday. First, students played a 1960 game called "Bridg-It", then Dr. Miller showed students how the game connected to Cold War military systems approaches tying in concepts of history, math, and game theory. Finally, students began analyzing primary sources from the Cold War to see how strategies have roots in the Bridg-it game.

28 CYCA members with volunteer sponsors Mrs. Nashberry, Mrs. Coplea and chaperones Mrs. Reiman and Mrs. Parr, spent the day volunteering at Special Olympics Friday. They helped run the track serving as stagers, timers, and escorts to awards. Their help was much appreciated by organizers and the students found it very rewarding! They went above and beyond, helping ensure participants felt celebrated-high fiving, hugging, cheering, and clapping! We even had 3 alumni return to help. Here's a few pics photographers at the event snapped that included some of our crew.
