Select Juniors attended the Construction Career Expo at the DuQuoin Fairgrounds with Mrs. Reiman on Thursday. They learned about all of the trades available for future career opportunities after graduation.
Juniors attended on SIUC Day with Mrs. Reiman on Wednesday. We spent the day exploring all the opportunities our local students have at SIUC. From learning about the automotive program to meeting R2-D2, there was something for every student to learn about.

We have lots of amazing vendors and yard sale participants signed up and ready to help make the Class of 2030 fundraiser a huge success! We are so excited to see everyone tomorrow Saturday, September 26, 2026!
Vendor & Yard Sale Information:
Arrival: Vendors and yard sale participants may arrive as early as 7:15 AM. Upon arrival, you will receive your assigned parking spot. If you still have a payment due, please take care of that at this time.
Please Bring Your Own Setup: All vendors and yard sale participants are responsible for bringing their own tables, chairs, tents/canopies, displays, and any other items needed for their setup. Please come prepared with everything you will need for the day.
Sale Hours: 8:00 AM–2:00 PM
End-of-Day Reminder: Beta Club will be available to take care of any unsold items for $25 at the end of the sale, so you don't have to haul everything home!
Class of 2029 & Class of 2030 Booths: Both classes will have booths set up with goodies for sale and will also be accepting donations to help support their classes.
We are looking forward to a fun-filled day of shopping, yard sale finds, delicious goodies, and supporting our students! Thank you to everyone who is participating, donating, and helping make this fundraiser possible.

The Cobden High School Cross Country Team is off to a great start, and our runners continue to work hard, improve and push one another every time they hit the course.
At the Redbird Invite, three Appleknockers finished in the Top 20: Tristan Wilson, Matthew Marks and Tyler Shoemate.
The trio followed that up with another strong showing at the Fort Massac Race, with Tristan finishing 4th, Matthew 8th and Tyler 14th.
At the most recent Ferne Clyffe Race, Tristan and Matthew both landed in the Top 10, with Tyler right behind them in 11th. Finn and Evaline Kaszubski also finished with season personal bests, showing the continued progress happening throughout the team.

Dozens of Cobden students, staff, and community members joined together this morning for “See You at the Pole,” an annual student-led day of prayer held at school flagpoles around the world.
Our freshmen Agriculture students spent today learning about the FFA emblem and what each part represents. Then they put their creativity and their sweet tooth to work by designing cookies using different foods to symbolize the elements of the emblem!
There was learning, creativity, plenty of fun, and, of course… a whole lot of sugar was ingested!

Seventh grade students visited Cahokia Mounds today as part of a study on Ancient and Native American cultures. They participated in a guided tour of the world heritage site, learned to play “chunkey,” and climbed Monk’s Mound.
Congratulations to Harper Stringer for taking 1st place at the Fort Massac Cross Country Meet. What an incredible accomplishment! And another strong showing for our girls cross country team, finishing 2nd place once again! Way to go, runners!
