Educators Rising members collected Toys for Tots this month. The countdown to Christmas is on!

32 Members of Cobden High School Youth & Community Advocates (CYCA) joined together Saturday at Alto and Cobden cemeteries, along with 3 CYCA members with CEO at Anna Cemetery, to take part in the annual Wreaths Across America program in which hundreds of wreaths were placed on veterans' graves. At 11 a.m. nationwide, people join together at cemeteries to place the wreaths with the focus being to remember fallen veterans, honor those who serve, and teach the next generation about the value of freedom. In addition at Alto, some determined CYCA boys discovered two large tombstones fallen off their bases, and with perseverance were able to reset them onto their bases.

Mr. Grossman is excited to announce the choice for this year’s play: Qui Nguyen's dramatic comedy, She Kills Monsters: Young Adventurers Edition!

She Kills Monsters tells the story of Agnes Evans, a completely average high schooler whose life is turned upside down when her younger sister, Tilly, dies. To understand the sister she never truly knew, Agnes dives into Tilly’s world: a high-fantasy, tabletop role-playing game. Alongside an awkward Dungeon Master named Chuck, Agnes embarks on an epic quest through the fantastical world of New Landia, encountering fierce monsters, witty elves, and three-headed dragons. This play is a hilarious, touching, and action-packed adventure about grief, sisterhood, and finding your true self in the most unexpected places.

Auditions will be held Wednesday, January 7th after school in Mr. Grossman's room for any interested High School student. Please see Mr. Grossman to pick up an Audition Packet ASAP! We hope to see many of you there!

BIG NEWS from Appleknocker Country! There’s something really exciting growing in the Cobden Ag Department! Our horticulture students fired up our brand-new Fork Farm hydroponics system! Students started by germinating lettuce seeds, then carefully transplanted them into the system. Now they’re testing pH and nutrient levels every single day, making sure everything is just right. This is hands-on learning full of pride, hard work, and a whole lot of heart. And get this… in about 30 days, this setup will produce around 30 pounds of fresh in house grown lettuce. Our vision? To keep expanding until we’re serving fresh, Cobden-grown lettuce in the school lunchroom. From our students’ hands to our school’s tables. That’s the Appleknocker way! Proud of our kids. Proud of our community. Proud to be an Appleknocker.

Mrs. Taylor’s 8th grade Social Studies class visited the Kaplan Feldman Holocaust Museum in St. Louis today as part of a cross-curricular study of WWII and the Holocaust with Mrs. Morrison and Mrs. Treece. Students had the opportunity to interact with museum exhibits and hear survivor stories.

it runs (or even mostly runs), we want to see it rolling down Main Street!
Let’s flood the streets with horsepower and show off the heart of our small town: local agriculture.


Nothing says Cobden pride like a parade full of hometown farmers and the machines that keep our community moving.

Bring your tractor, bring your family, bring your Christmas spirit. let’s make this the most unforgettable small-town parade yet!

Christmas in the Village, Come See Cobden FFA!
It’s the coziest time of year in our favorite little town, and Cobden FFA is excited to be a part of Christmas in the village this weekend!

We’ll be set up with Cobden FFA Appeal items and Hall’s famous cinnamon rolls. Warm, gooey, and perfect for a chilly December day.

Plus, we’ll be manning the bounce house, so bring the kiddos and let them burn off some holiday energy while you enjoy the festivities!

Every tip and donation goes directly back to supporting the Cobden FFA Chapter, helping us continue growing, learning, and serving our wonderful community.
