MLB Opening Day at Cobden Elementary

Bring $1 and wear a hat and your favorite MLB/Sports team apparel. All money collected will go toward St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Cobden Elementary threw the best and biggest surprise birthday celebration for Mrs. Wiltowski today! A surprise parade, confetti cannons, cards, posters, and 40 recorders playing "Happy Birthday!" PTO provided cookies for all of our students to help celebrate. Everyone kept this big secret and made Mrs. Wiltowski's 40th birthday the best one yet! Cobden Appleknockers are the greatest!
Cobden Elementary Kindergarten Screening 2023-24

Please call Cobden Elementary at 618-893-2311 to make an appointment for your child to be screened. To be eligible for a screening your child must be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2023 and live in the Cobden Unit School District #17.
Please bring the following wth you to the screening: Proof of parent/guardian's residency in CUSD #17 (tax bill, utility bill, property deed, lease, etc), Child's certified birth certificate, and child's current immunization record.
The cause chosen by the Cobden Youth & Community Advocates (CYCA) to raise awareness and funds for this year is Anna PAWS. We will hold a district-wide Purple Out For PAWS on Tuesday May 2nd. T-shirt forms are due to the school office by 3 pm Wednesday April 12th. Orders may also be placed through the online store, which closes April 11th. Link to store-https://shopsilkworm.com/cobdenhspaws Proceeds from the t-shirts will go toward supporting the PAWS animal shelter in Anna. We'll take a large group picture in our purple with some cute pets from the shelter the day of the purple out, and try to help get the pets adopted.
First Grade Leprechaun Traps! No leprechauns were caught, but some sweet treats and gold coins were left behind.🍀💚
Our Lost and Found is full to the brim! Please feel free to visit this evening during parent teacher conferences 3:30-7 or encourage your child to check it out each day. We have lots of nice items that belong to some of our students!

Mrs. Middleton's 2nd grade turned their classroom into one giant fort today and spent the whole day reading to celebrate Dr. Seuss Week!
The Appleknocker Cafe Team celebrate joined in on celebrating Dr. Seuss’ Birthday this week! We ended the week with FISH DAY! 1 Fish, 2 Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish serving Fish shaped portions, WG Goldfish crackers, Fresh Confetti Coleslaw, Sliced Strawberries, and choice of Milk.

To Drop Off Elementary Students (PreK-5th):
-Enter drive in front of Elementary School
-Pull up as far as possible next to sidewalk and remain in your vehicle
-Drop off elementary student on sidewalk where they will walk up front steps into main entrance
-Exit
To Drop Off Junior High and High School Students (6th-12th):
-Turn from Cobden School Rd onto Walnut St (N of baseball field)
-Turn left in front of Jr/Sr High
-Drop off students at main entrance
-Exit left toward Cobden Sch. Rd
To Pick Up Elementary Students (PreK-5th):
-Enter drive in front of Elementary School
-Pull up as far as possible next to sidewalk and remain in your vehicle
-Students will be called out and enter vehicles from sidewalk
-Continue to move forward as much as possible
-Exit
To Pick Up Junior High and High School Students (6th-12th):
-Ensure buses have loaded and departed
-Turn from Cobden Sch. Rd onto Walnut St (N of baseball field)
-Turn left in front of Jr/Sr High
-Pick up students
-Exit left toward Cobden Sch. Rd
