On Friday, the second grade classes read the book Pumpkin Jack by Will Hubbell. After reading, they placed their carved pumpkins, seeds, water, and dirt into clear containers. For the rest of the school year, the classrooms will observe the changes in their pumpkins and watch them decompose and eventually grow into new plants.
