Bio

Hello! My name is Karen Engelmann and I am thrilled to say this will be my 11th year as an Appleknocker! I have been the Family and Consumer Sciences teacher at Cobden Jr./Sr. High School since 2010. I teach a Dual Credit Diversity of Schools and Society course, Introduction to Family and Consumer Sciences, Cooperative Education, Adult Living, Child Development, Foods I, and Foods II. I am also the FCCLA Advisor, Costume Director, Senior Class Sponsor and Educators Rising Advisor. I earned my Masters of Science in Education in 2015 from Southern Illinois University. I earned my Bachelors of Science in Career and Technical Education from Eastern Illinois University in 2010. In addition to being an Appleknocker, I am also a Saluki. I teach a Curriculum and Instruction, Early Childhood Education course at Southern Illinois University one evening each week. I am looking forward to another school year teaching valuable life skills at CHS!
